Almost September! Erin's back to work, Nora's back in daycare, and I'm back to school, all in the same day! It was a little stressful for each of us, but we managed, and we think our schedule will work out just fine. I'm home from school most days before noon, and at the latest well before Erin and Nora get home, so I still have time to do some cleaning, organizing, and house-husband duties prior to their arrival. Erin doesn't work late herself, working for a school and all, so that helps too.
We took some pictures of Nora in the tub yesterday, here's one!
The three of us went to Waterville this weekend to help Mimi Terri - Nora's great-grandmother on Erin's side - move into her new place. It's nice, I wish they made retirement villages for younger people (see: Bobby Hill, King of the Hill)
Here's some pictures that Grammy Tina took while we were all eating at Pizza Hut! Yes, Nora's sitting in a restaurant high chair. She's getting to be a big girl!
And yes I know, she's still a tiny girl in a really big chair.
Took some new picts today, and apparently had some from 12 days ago that I didn't upload (oops). I was busy with other projects (like Nora herself) and just didn't feel like updating the journal at the time.
In any case, here are today's:
We transferred Nora's play-area to the living room, where it was cooler,
Then Mommy fed her...and she made a mess. But usually not to this extent...
Erin and Nora spent a few days in Waterville visiting Grammy Tina and a bunch of other family, as well as relaxing - it was Erin's first week out of summer school, and she had only three weeks until returning to school.
Nora's eating a pretty wide variety of food now: barley and oatmeal cereals (we've stopped rice because it can apparently be binding), sweet potato, squash, peas, pears, and peaches. Erin's going to try her on plums in the next few days.
We're surviving the weather, it's been hot! Supposed to be even worse tomorrow - mid 90's? Whaa? I moved the A/C into the bedroom a couple weeks ago, so that helps out on that end of the apartment at least; the living room is still pretty bad, but better than outside.
Me: the plan is to go back to school myself this fall - UMaine, Accounting. I have two years, and thought that I might use my "free time" to finish my degree, and earn some real money. I'd still be home before the girls were too, so I can continue working as house-husband.
We were a little worried for Nora yesterday, she had an awful case of constipation; her stools are harder than Erin thinks they should be, and from what I've read online a baby's anus isn't fully stretched to where it needs to be, eliciting a response from the baby that is (according to one website) reminiscent of mommy giving birth a few months earlier.
She had a good sized movement this morning though, and seems in good spirits.
Yes, you were hoping for cute pictures and anecdotes, and what you got was a poop update.
I've increased the resolution that the camera takes pictures in, which increases both the file size and the final image. You'll note when clicking on pictures now that the image popping-up is physically larger. I've started doing this to increase the image quality for when we go to actually print the pictures.
